We are honored to be inducted into Junior Achievement of Northern California's Business Hall of Fame for our mentorship of students from underrepresented communities. Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization that works with schools and businesses to provide learning programs related to career readiness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and more. As part of this work, Agilent team members take local students on tours of our Santa Clara labs and provide mentorship on career paths. We also support Junior Achievement through grants from the Agilent Foundation. “Through our lab tours and mentorship, the students can begin seeing themselves in STEM careers, and that's very exciting,” said Lynn Metrulas, an Agilent vice president and longtime volunteer with Junior Achievement. Acting on our initiative to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the Agilent Center of Excellence (CoE) laboratory in Santa Clara, California pushed to achieve the top certification from My Green Lab in 2022, and is determined for recertification in the fall of 2024 after maintaining sustainable practices. “It was a great opportunity for an Agilent CoE lab to participate in the My Green Lab Certification program. I believe the team became personally connected to the process and the purpose of it; their attitude embodied Agilent’s culture shift toward sustainability,” commented Lee Ingvaldson, Presales Application Engineering Manager at the CoE lab in Santa Clara.
